Alexander S. Rynerson represents public entities and public employees in all aspects of litigation from pre-litigation evaluation and analysis through post-trial appeals. His practice has focused on general liability, catastrophic personal injury, medical malpractice and elder abuse, breach of contract, and civil rights claims for multiple public entities and Fortune 500 companies, including BMW of North America, Gilead Sciences, Aston Martin Lagonda, and Bank of America, among others. Mr. Rynerson has served as first and second chair trial counsel in both State and Federal court and in private arbitration. Mr. Rynerson has also been responsible for briefing and arguing multiple matters before the California Court of Appeal, most notably in the matter of Logan v. Country Oaks Care Partners, LLC (2022) 82 Cal.App.5th 365 – a decision that radically changes the face of agency law in California.
Mr. Rynerson holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Chapman University on a merit scholarship, where he was a member of Moot Court, Mock Trial, and the Alternative Dispute Resolution teams. While in law school, Mr. Rynerson was a certified law clerk for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office, assigned to the Victim Impact Program representing the People of California on behalf of victims of child, sexual, domestic, and elder abuse in over 30 felony hearings, multiple successful motions, and three jury trials.
In his free time, Mr. Rynerson serves as bro-bono general counsel for multiple 501(c)(3) organizations, is an avid skier and scuba diver, brews beer, sings with the Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic, and spends as much time as possible with his wonderful wife and their three dogs.
Mr. Rynerson has also been responsible for briefing and arguing multiple matters before the California Court of Appeal, most notably in the matter of Logan v. Country Oaks Care Partners, LLC (2022) 82 Cal.App.5th 365 [Affirmed by the California Supreme Court in Case No. S276545] – a decision that radically changes the face of agency and healthcare law in California.
