Katrina J. Valencia

Katrina J. Valencia has successfully tried to verdict a variety of jury trials throughout the State of California. She has also arbitrated personal injury and breach of contract claims. Typically, the damages sought were in the mid-to-high seven figure range.

Ms. Valencia’s primary focus is on the defense of municipalities, public employees, and private companies in state and federal court throughout the State of California. Ms. Valencia has served as lead counsel in complex cases involving over 20 parties, coordinating investigations, joint motions, and settlement negotiations. Her aggressive yet personal nature and attention to detail has resulted in the quick resolution or early dismissal of numerous lawsuits brought against her clients.  Ms. Valencia’s combined experience in litigation and conflict resolution allows her to bring a unique approach to litigation.

Ms. Valencia has taught various MCLE courses and published articles on the shifting landscape of recoverable damages, Medicare, and the ethical obligations of both attorneys and insurance carriers in litigation. Ms. Valencia is active in various non-profit organizations and previously served as a mentor for at risk youth and as the Community Relations Liaison for her children’s elementary school.  She is an avid reader and a baseball enthusiast.
